Yellow Hardy Waterlilies

These yellow coloured waterlilies are suitable for medium to larger ponds or even farm dams. They require a much larger water surface area for their leaf spread, hence, coverage is more when compared with small/miniature size waterlilies. Growth tip of the plant could be submerged between 20cms to 40cms below the water surface. Any deeper than 40cms the plant may not flower or grow properly.

Nymphaea 'Joey Tomocik' (Hardy Waterlily)
(Strawn, 1993) A large grower with strong yellow flowers. The petal colour intensifies as the plant establishes in the pond. Leaves are mottled and splashed with chestnut brown colour. Lemon-like fragrance.

(Latour-Marliac, 1880) An old favourite. Beautiful canary yellow cup shaped flowers with rounded petals. Very attractive marbled green leaves splashed/blotched brown. Lightly fragrant. Also suitable for tub plantings. A very popular cultivar.

Nymphaea 'Moorei' (Hardy Waterlily)
(Adelaide Botanic Gardens, 1885) Medium yellow flowers. Green leaves with a lot of tiny reddish speckles. The first ever Australian hybrid. This is the true form and not the mis-named waterlily sold under this name by some nurseries. Uncommon.
